South Carolina school visit and show at Seanachai Social Club

Thanks to banjo player, guitarist, and scholar, Edwin McCallister, I'll be visiting a school and then doing an evening show at the Seanachai Social Club. More details as I have them.


Ashe County residency

West Jefferson, NC

From Wednesday morning through Friday evening I'll be visiting three or four schools, leading a writing workshop, participating in a community-wide variety show, and doing more than all that.

Kansas City roots music variety show

The Brick, 1727 McGee St., Kansas City

Show also includes The Aching Hearts (from St. Louis), Spencer & Rains (from Lawrence), Switchback (from Indiana), Betse & Clarke (from KC), and undoubtedly some surprises. $10 (free for Arts Midwest attendees)

I'll be trying my luck again at Arts Midwest, this time around it's back to Kansas City.


Rhythm and Roots Festival

Ninigret Park, Charlestown RI

I'll be doing kids' shows, and workshops, and whatever else seems right. Three stages, plus a workshop stage, plus a kids' stage. Line-up looks amazing. I'm definitely on at 5 P.M. Saturday and then noon on Sunday. Otherwise, we'll have to see!

More details as I have them. I'll be playing two sets, one for a family/kids' audience, and one for a general audience. I'll be joined by the terrific Peter Johnson, and some special guests.

Red Hook, Brooklyn workshop and show

I'll be at the fabulous Jalopy Theatre. Right now we'll have the fabulous Diana Jones appearing and that fine Gothic-folk-Americana quintet, Bobtown. And Charlie Shaw will be joining me. That's at 8 PM, and I'm also expecting surprise guests. Also, from 4-6, I'll be leading a writing workshop. My appearance for workshop and evening show is supported in part by Poets & Writers, Inc.


Red Hook writing workshop

I'll be leading a writing workshop Sunday afternoon prior to evening show. Open to writers of all experience and abilities. We'll begin four new pieces and have some fun. $20 for workshop (includes ticket to evening show and a Ken Waldman CD).

I'll be doing two events: in the morning I'll be at the North Regional Library in Carencro, and in the afternoon I'll be at the South Regional Library on Johnston Street, past Ambassador Caffery.


Two Iberia Parish Library summer reading program shows

Two shows for the Iberia Parish libraries. The first is at 2 PM at the Coteau branch. The second is at 6:30 at the Main Library in downtown New Iberia.
