David McCormick will be joining me, and maybe you'll be there too for fiddle tunes and mayhem.
David McCormick will be joining me, and maybe you'll be there too for fiddle tunes and mayhem.
I'll have my novel, Now Entering Alaska Time, plus my kids' book, plus other books, and CDs, and I'm sure I'll be playing tunes, including the Talkeetna Waltz, with Conscious Coffee and Bookery proprietor, Kim Hutchings.
I'll be playing fiddle tunes, reading and reciting poems, telling stories, and introducing Alaska to some visitors while making long-time Alaskans smile. Great place to play. I sure look forward to it!
Day two of the Denali Arts Council's Memorial Day festival. I'll play some fiddle between sets, and will have a table with books and CDs.
Lucky me, I get to return to Talkeetna and participate in the Memorial Day Weekend arts festival there.
I'll be playing some fiddle and mandolin and will aim to help Mosquito Books sell a few of my Now Entering Alaska Time novel (and maybe a few of the CDs that go along with the book).
I'll be doing something in Mancos at beautiful Willowtail Springs on Saturday afternoon. More news as I have it! It's a benefit show!
I'll be doing some outreach as part of my week-long residency at Willowtail Springs in Mancos, and part of my longer residency at the Cortez Cultural Center. I'll be playing some fiddle tunes, reading/reciting poems. and telling a few stories. It's going on in conjunction with an avian art exhibit so I'll include a few bird poems!
I'll be visiting three classes thanks to Music teacher, Denise Leslie.
A great way to conclude National Poetry Month. I'll be joining Lisa Taylor and several other writers from Southwest Colorado.
It looks like I'll be spending three weeks between the Cortez Cultural Center in Cortez and Willowtail Springs in Mancos--lots of time to catch up on creative projects, plus a series of gigs in those two communities and more. More details as I have them!
Jenny Inzerillo hosts and I'll play, talk, otherwise carry on for a half hour.
Jerry Hagins builds a banjo right in front of you and will eventually play it. Ken Waldman shares poems and fiddle tunes while we await. It's magic, music, poetry, storytelling, and more. Camp EZ is an Austin treasure.
I'll be joined by Tim Kerr & Jerry Hagins (aka Up Around the Sun) and by Beth Chrisman, and maybe a surprise or two. Expect at least one outreach event--looks like we'll be doing a school matinee show on Thursday morning, April 20.
I'll be visiting a school on Friday, offering a writing workshop 11 am Saturday, and then doing a show on Saturday night with the terrific Mark Tamsula and Barbara Rosner who'll be coming down from Pittsburgh. The River House is super excellent, and I really look forward to all of this.
More details as I have them, but I'll be joined by the wonderful Jan Bell, and maybe another accompanist. Plus a fine local Shelbyville musician, Kit Haymond, will be featured at some point. If you've been to a few of my shows, you know how these things can go. The Strand is a beautiful place. This show will be my second National Poetry Month outing in as many days. Yes, more details as I have them!
I'll be doing an afternoon kids' show followed by a writing workshop. I love doing this kind of thing. Think fun, inspiration, surprises. $10 gets you in the door! We're bringing in National Poetry Month!
It's always a pleasure to play music and tell stories to a senior audience. It'll be my first time Walla Walla in years!
I'll be on the radio locally, and I believe it will also be streaming!
Another McMenamins music party! Rich Kuras will be there, and so will Louis Ledford, Mick Rachitel, and Brian Laidlaw. We also expect surprises! https://www.mcmenamins.com/events/240530-ken-waldman-the-wild-ones?1
