Long Island family/kids' shows

Sunday only at the Children's Museum. It's been a couple of years and I look forward to returning. This time I'm joined by my good pal, Charlie Shaw, who plays guitar and percussion.


Binghamton workshop and show

Connie Barnes of RiverRead Books is hosting me for an afternoon workshop and then an evening show (at a venue to-be-determined) where I'll be joined by multi-instrumentalist Brian Vollmer and likely special guests.


Montgomery County (NY) workshop and show

Amsterdam Free Library, Amsterdam, NY

5 P.M. writing workshop to be followed by 6:30 reading (complete with fiddle tunes, storytelling, and surprises--one surprise is I'll be joined by Binghamton multi-instrumentalist, Brian Vollmer).



Centenary Stage Co. Black Box Festival

Hackettstown, NJ

I'll be joined by multi-instrumentalist, Brian Vollmer, for a four-day run of PORTRAIT OF AN ARTIST AS SANTA CLAUS: it's one-part string-band concert, one-part literary reading, one-part storytelling evening, one-part gift exchange. We'll have ourselves some fun.


Northern Indiana show

Honeywell House, Wabash, IN

Thursday night of my week-long education residency, and I'll be at the Honeywell House, telling Alaska-set stories, reciting and reading poems, and playing fiddle tunes. There might likely be a surprise or two.


Sam Houston State University visit

Sam Houston State University, Huntsville TX

More details as I have them! And now I finally do. I'll be joined by Austin banjo player, Jerry Hagins, and by Austin fiddler and guitarist, Beth Chrisman. The show will also have sets by Evie Ladin & Keith Terry, and by Gene Young & Marynell Young. On Tuesday morning, I'll be doing a session for Creative Writing students and others.



Texas residency

Texas A&M University, College Station, TX

Sponsored by the Academy for Visual and Performing Arts I'll be on campus October 7-9, and Thursday evening, October 9 will host a roots music variety show which includes Appalachian Roots duo Ira Bernstein and Riley Baugus, plus the West Coast pair of Evie Ladin and Keith Terry, plus Cajun fiddler David Greely, plus Austin musician, Jerry Hagins, and special guests. Caldwell Arts Council: Granite Falls Coffeehouse show

Local Bean Coffeehouse, 30 Falls Street, Granite Falls, NC

I'll be joined by Nashville multi-instrumentalist, John Fabke (and we expect special guests and surprises).

This is the public event that goes with a two-day education residency in Caldwell County high schools and will be a family-friendly show.
