FERRY FROM JUNEAU TO SKAGWAY NOT RUNNING THAT DAY, SO I COULDN'T MAKE IT TO SKAGWAY.
I'm happy to coming back to Skagway. and will be doing a short solo set.
An event to celebrate Now Entering Alaska Time. I'll be at the Merchant's Wharf location.
We'll see what Wild Ones I can conjure up--always busy times at the festival!
Ken Waldman & The Wild Ones will be playing at 8 pm on Saturday, April 13. I'll be celebrating the festival with a troupe of friends, and some special festival words. Sometime on Saturday or Sunday I'll undoubtedly be offering a workshop.
I'll be on the radio, and guessing I'll have a friend or two joining me. We'll have some Folk Festival fun!
I'll be leading a workshop, So, You Want to Go Places With Your Art, and will follow it with a solo show.
The writers' club will be hosting me in the afternoon and then the evening as members will have read NOW ENTERING ALASKA TIME. This will be a whole lot of fun before I head north the following week for a long spring, summer tour with the new edition of the book.
I'll be joined by Ben Guzman for an event for CSU Pueblo Honors students, Media & Entertainment students, and Creative Writing students.
I'll be sharing the evening with birthday boy, Ross Thorn, immensely talented Duluth singer, songwriter, roots musician who I met this past August playing at The Northerly's Living Luminaries series. I trust new dad, Kyle Orla, who hosted that night, will be joining us. Me, it'll be the 28th anniversary of my March 2, 1996 plane crash near Nome. We'll be celebrating with fiddle tunes, stories, songs, and more!
This begins my four or five days in and around Grand Rapids through the Reif Center. More details as I have them.
More conference, this time with music pals, friends old and new.
11 readers go on at 6 pm. I'm among the 10 that go on beginning at 7:30 for session #2. Lots of great writers from a wonderful press. I'll have my collection, Conditions and Cures, a book I don't often get to read out of. I'm sure I'll play a fiddle tune too. Afterwards, 9 pm, there's a reception/mixer. Limited seating--attendees need to register. Some links are below:

Reading Session 2
Back again to see friends old and new, all somehow affiliated with the writing and literature and education fields.
Lucky me, I get to play with John Lane at the Our Front Porch series at the museum. My first ever Macomb appearance.
After a workshop, a matinee performance! We'll be taking you to Alaska and back with fiddle tunes, poetry, and stories!
I'll be leading a workshop, SO, YOU WANT TO GO PLACES WITH YOUR ART. It's for artists of all disciplines, all levels of experience, for anyone who want to go further, and be more public than they are now. Music, writing, performance (theater, dance, going on tour), visual art. Everyone can come away with useful lessons.
John Freeman and his band is doing the show, and I'll be doing a set of some kind, almost certainly with an accompanist or two--it'll be a blast!
Writing workshop and then a performance/reading. More details as I have them!
I'll be visiting an elementary school and an intermediate school. Fun and inspiration for all!
